Linda Vallejo (born 1951, East Los Angeles) is an Mexican-American artist known for painting, sculpture and ceramics, known for her work addressing her ethic identity within the context of American art and popular culture. She also is the founder of a commercial art gallery, ''Galería Las Américas, ''an arts educator and for many years she has been involved in'' ''traditional Native American and Mexican rituals and ceremonies.〔 ==Biography== Linda Vallejo was born in East Los Angeles.〔 Her father entered the United States Air Force as a commissioned officer and frequently moved the family. Vallejo received a BA in Fine Arts from Whittier College in 1973, studied lithography at the University of Madrid, Spain, and received a MFA from California State University, Long Beach, in 1978.〔 Vallejo lives in Topanga, California, with her husband of thirty-three years, Ron Dillaway. She has two sons, Robert and Paul. In 1973, Vallejo was one of the early art teachers at Self-Help Graphics, an arts non-profit primary serving the Latino community of Los Angeles with arts education, printmaking and support.
